Q&A with Grain Culture

We recently tried some bread from Grain Culture…..wow, just wow! We knew we had to contact Luca Fiorio, Grain Culture’s founder and hear more about the business and his fantastic range of bread. You really need to get your hands on this, but first take a read of Luca’s blog.

SmokeWorks, Cambridge

IMG_0228

We recently had the pleasure of visiting SmokeWorks in Cambridge, as they had kindly invited us to come and check it out. So it was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a trip to Cambridge to combine food and culture, who doesn’t love a trip to the Fitzwilliam Museum?

As many parents will know, it is always hard to find a restaurant that caters for everyone’s tastes. On this occasion, it was two adults and five kids, ranging in age from 7 – 14, with one veggie.

Networking why?

Networking4

I am often asked why I started Grub Club Cambridge and the answer is simple. I was feed up of going to networking events that were full of life coaches and accountants (nothing against either of them). I wanted to go to networking events that served wonderful food and were specifically focused on the food industry. Having worked in the food industry for a number of years I felt that there was a gap in the market for our events.

With convenience on the rise, people have less time to spend in the kitchen cooking up nutritious meals. As a result, meal kits have grown dramatically over the last few years and are predicted to grow even further in 2019 as consumers become time poor, yet want to ensure they are eating well. Brands such as Hello Fresh have been in the market the longest, but we have recently seen the explosion of meal kits from other brands, with Waitrose launching their version in 2018. With this rising trend, we thought it was time to review some home delivery meal kits, ranging from meat, vegetable and vegan based meals. Read on to see which dishes really impressed.

What a fantastic evening we had at Bohemia in St Neots last Thursday, celebrating British Food Fortnight and our 4th Birthday. What an amazing evening we had at Stem & Glory this May as part of Eat Cambridge where we indulged in the most delicious gourmet free-from menu. We knew it was going to be tasty as soon as we walked in, as we were greeted by the most amazing aromas. As ever, the attendees were a lovely mix of new faces and regular attendees, which always makes for great conversation and networking opportunities.

The IVY comes to Cambridge

THE-BOAT-ROOM-THE-IVY

Grub Club Cambridge were delighted to be at the launch of the Ivy Brassiere earlier this month. It is always great to see new restaurants opening in Cambridge, offering a wonderful array for us to enjoy. The number of new openings in the city and surrounding area seems to have exploded in recent months all for the benefit of the consumers. But few have created as much anticipation as the launch of The Ivy.
