Eat It

Gujju Bites, Ely

Billed as “an authentic introduction to street-side cuisine; the idea is to transport you to India among the hustle and bustle”, new-concept Indian restaurant Gujju Bites has just opened in Ely. The small but perfectly formed menu is filled with street-food classics, from the “go-to Indian burger” Vada Pav, a bun loaded with spiced and fried potato, coriander chutney and garlic masala, to the Bombay Masala Sandwich, a double-decker stacked with veggies and oozing with cheese, all washed down with a classic hot Masala Chai.

No 77 Takeover, February 2023

Putting everything from steaks, pies and brisket burgers to risottos and Sunday roasts on the menu, No. 77, the acclaimed Thai restaurant in Caxton, is hosting a month-long “gourmet pub” pop-up. While the resident chefs take their annual trip back to Thailand, owner Craig Scott, the chef best known for co-founding Bourn’s Willow Tree, is taking over the kitchen. Running from February 5 to March 5, the ‘No. 77 Takeover’ “leans in heavily towards classic British pub food – but with a gourmet twist,” say the team.
